The gameplay picks up right where the first Modern Warfare left off. You can now relive the 2009 blockbuster on a new generation console in high-definition for the first time. In addition to playing on PC, you can finally experience the game with enhanced graphics on your Xbox One. The Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered edition is finally here. This remaster is worth every penny of the $20 price tag and, in my humble opinion, worth the jump back into this classic campaign.If you’re one of those COD fans that have been patiently waiting for years for a fully-remastered version of Modern Warfare 2, you don’t have to wait anymore. I no longer play the Call of Duty series, but I still play many story centric first-person shooters, and this felt just as good as any of those today, such as Doom Eternal, Halo 5, and Borderlands 3. Overall, this remaster was a success and an enjoyable romp for classic fans and newcomers alike. This is a hefty bit of extras for any MW Warzone fan. These add-ons include classic Ghost skin, two weapon blueprints, weapon charm, finishing move, voice quip, animated calling card, emblem and two battle pass tier skips. Anyhow, the purchase of the game via Xbox Game Store provides the player with add-ons for the current version of Modern Warfare and Warzone. This was an amazing idea and great for fans of the original. Allowing new players, who were not old enough or not into the franchise in 2009, to experience the back story at such a low cost. Otherwise, control felt exceptionally good with fluid movement and fast paced response time.įor those wondering why they didn’t include multiplayer, this was simply a budget release follow-up to the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign released with Infinite Warfare. I would say that the game would have benefitted from the pop-out cover mechanic that Rainbow Six Vegas implemented, but that’s just knit picking. Controls were tight, movement and aiming were spot on and it felt fantastic using the Xbox Elite Controller Version 2.
This was one of the best CoD campaigns and it still felt that way. After 11 years since it’s initial release, I thought it would feel outdated and would simply feel like a nostalgia trip, but was I wrong.
